Welcome to NYCLife.com
Dear Web surfer,
I would like to first thank all of the loyal visitors and fans of Andrew's NYC Life. I never expected my site to become nearly as popular as it has. I have people write me in from nearly every continent asking questions and thanking me for some of the content. I'm always happy to provide information on many of the various topics and subjects covered throughout the site. To all of you that don't appreciate the site, I only have one comment "go somewhere else." It's funny but people who don't like the site seem to spend a lot of time and energy on the site, so just go somewhere else on the World Wide Web and get on with your life.
I registered this site back in 1998 when the WWW was in its infancy. At the time the Internets potential was just being realized, so I jumped on board with the intention of being able to post some pictures for friends and family. My original sections "travel" and "parties" and have remained relatively unchanged since I created them on AOL back in 1996 but are now frequently updated with never pages. Next, I added the "NYC tour page" and played around with some interactive features like the "feedback" page, "search" page and "guest book." At one point I even offered Internet based email with yourname@nyclife.com (however it never took off so I removed it).
I then decided to provide additional sections so more people could benefit, such as the "calendar of events" and "message board." These new sections use a sophisticated server-side scripting language, created by MIVA, which provides users with a fast and secure interactive experience. My most recent addition is my "journal" page which is meant to provide surfers with a more personal and insightful experience. So with this in mind
Welcome to Andrew's NYC Life
your source for inside information on Manhattan / International living and socializing.
As mentioned, the site now contains a social events calendar, digital photography, personal journal, message board and a variety of individual interest. I am constantly updating the site with a variety of ideas. For example, over the next few months I will be adding a new section outlining my personal investment strategy. I also have this idea of photographing the "Manhattan" locations of my favorite movies and books (Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Catcher in the Rhy, etc.)
The message board is available to promote the free exchanging of ideas. If you have any additional ideas for the web site or corrections please fill out the Feedback Form and I'll get back to you. Lastly, you might want to sign up for my mailing list to keep abreast of current happenings. I do not Spam!
As most New Yorkers and Americans, I was deeply affected by the events on September 11th, 2001 and therefore have included some links throughout the site where you can contribute to the various charities. I have personally contributed to all of the charities on my site as a sign of solidarity to my country and our great city. I have also added a memorial section under my "News & Photos" page based on first hand experience during that time period. You might also notice that I have a strong affinity towards dogs and yes I have volunteered at various times to help rescue them; I believe that someone must be an advocate for those whom can't help themselves.
I'm also considering starting a additional sections on the site with contributed articles, photos, stories, etc. Let me know if you want to contribute?
Thank you for your continued interest in NYCLife.com.
Regards,
